compare too all other models Nokia , panasonic. samsung P900 camera quality is baaad!!! focus /sharpnes ? I cant understand why SE9 can not use the same camera as the SE Z600 the camera quality on a Z600 is from scale 1-10 near 8 and SE p900 sucks on 3 ..if you have a room /area with mega spothlights
I hope that a software can fix this problem .. like T610 camera OS fix latest RXXX

My P900's camera does seem to make the pictures very red...7650's camera was better in my opinion.

@ oxegn, yes the 7650 took some pretty good photos in both day and nightmode, but the P900 still out performs it in good lighting conditions, i have compared the two and the P900 wins no question at taking day light photos, however it is very poor in dim lit or darker conditons, the 7650 wins in darker conditions, and the focus was alot sharper even when closing in on objects.

I have to agree with you guys on this one... The camera really blows.... I remember taking a pic in Rome from my P800 to MMS back to the states.. I got complaints about the pic and I haven't tried MMSing a phone generated pic since.. I thought the P900 would have promise, but it hasn't. Unless one wants to take MMS pics then don't bother buying a mobile phone as a subsitute for a digi cam.. However, I do have hope that a lot of the issues can be cleared through firmware revisions. The hardware capabilities of the actual camera isn't limited to taking better pics per se, but the firmware seems to have a stronghold on it for now.. I would have to say this camera is comperable to a cheap computer USB digi cam.

Phone cameras (that is the camera on the phone) are, and will be for some time, merely toys (P900 et al)... welcome additions, but nothing you would want to really use for any proper purpose... And I am sure the fact that a phone has a camera wouldn't be the deciding factor in a purchase... just one of the little additional gadgets that are included...
Until we start getting megapixel (preferably in mulitples) cameras on phones, then they will always be included for fun... the odd MMS here and there (or screen background or whatever), but nothing that you would want to frame and put on your wall... once again the size of the things limits what they can do... probably the smallest decent digicam is around the size of a phone on its own, and costs a few hundred too, minus the minituarisation and further integration that would be required to attach them to a phone!
Nothing can beat having separates, obviously... just that we always expect so much more these days... when the technology is still developing... All in all, the current cameras are fine for the size screen they are included to be viewed on (a couple of inches at best)... and as for lighting problems... then these will never be perfectly solved unless you get a proper flash for the thing... thus increasing size and weight further... software can only do so much, if the hardware isn't in place also

I think the perfect solution would be an addon camera.. Specifically a BT enabled digi cam... I have a Ricoh digi cam that lets me connect to the internet and upload my pics to a photo developer... However, it has no BT capabilities. With that said, this capability would allow most to use their phones as a GRPS access point for their digi cams.. Much like the principle of the BT pen which simply allows one to email text through the use of BT and GRPS data transfer through a mobile phone. I think that would be a great idea for MMS purposes and even semi-pro photographers.

*LOL*
The 7650 was the worst of all phone cameras, it had a blue tone wand was totally out of focus on the edges.
And the P900 camera is much better than the Z600 camera.

@BigFeat
I was about to suggest the BT feature on cameras myself, I'd love it if my trusty digital IXUS could transfer pics wirelessly to my P900 for MMS'ing.
But for now I'm happy to have a camera with 128Mb full of megapixel images and a phone with 128Mb of music, videos and apps as seperate devices.
