Three times now I have been on a call and suddenly the low battery warning screen appears, along with a loud warning tone and changing the flashing green led to flashing red. This is despite the fact that the battery indicator shows more than 75% left. I reboot the phone which resets the flashing red led, but the same thing happens again during a call.

Is this a known bug? Is it the battery meter that is innaccurate or is the phone providing the low battery warning when it shouldn't be? I haven't noticed any other problems.

How long did you charge your battery for the first charge - overnight?
d
Your error message suggests to me that you may have a faulty battery.

I didn't charge it overnight; I just charged it for a couple of hours after getting it from the shop. However, it's not like the battery is going down quickly - the meter still says it is at 75%.

The myth about having to charge the battery for 16hrs when you get it isnt a myth.

It may be that the short first charge has cabbaged the battery.

I'd take it back and act unawares, saying you'd charged it for the full 16hr. They'll more than likely just replace.
You''ll only need to take it to an SE Service Center if you've had it more than a month.

Any with P900s in stock i'd guess...

All they need to do is hack open a box hand one over.

@Kitp800

I think the 16 hrs. charge would be applicable only to NiCad and NiMH Batteries which was used by the earlier cell phones, but not the Lithium types of battery ( Based on the earlier posts done here at esato )

It's the best also to do 14 hours of charging the first time.
If you do that each month (drain the battery to less then 5%) and than charge it again 14 hours your battery stays 'healthy'.

That thing really works!
Myself I do it 12 hours most of the time (easy to calculate ).
And I chop my P800 battery in the P900 when using the first time and chop the P900 battery in my P800 and let the P800 charge for about 12-14 hours.

A friend of mine had a similar problem a couple of years back with a T65 - all of a sudden the low battery warning would appear and the led would turn red. After focusing on the more obvious reason of battery failure, they came to realize it was the software. Reinstalling it (or a newer version) solved the problem. This message was posted from a T310
