I sent my T610 to get the firmware upgraded (from R1L013.. prgCXC12-5566.EU.2) and they came back and told me that the upgrade failed and they'd get me a new phone. A week later they give me a vodafone T610, which I didn't want... so I went back and kicked up a bit of a fuss, and got told that SE didn't give out "new" phones (my phone was only 3 weeks old). So I asked for my old phone back and told them I'd deal with SE directly. Turns out that my phone is working perfectly. Is the only problem that there's a glitch somewhere that means my phone can't be upgraded? Will SE replace my unit with a new phone? (I'd rather keep this phone un-upgraded than to get a "refurbished" phone). I'm in Australia if it helps.

I tried to have my T610 software upgraded twice (to R1L) and both times it destroyed my phone - so they gave me a new one (without all the scratches!!)
They must have downloaded some dodgy upgrade software....

Narzf.... Where did you get your firmware upgraded??
I went to "Phonebiz" in Rockdale, NSW.
I went to see them a while ago to upgrade my firmware and they said they couldn't guarantee that my phone would work after the upgrade cause I purchased my phone from overseas.

Im in the UK and spoke to SE just the other day about a software upgrade for my T610. I explained the reason I wanted it was in the hope it would help sort out a problem I have when charging - If I plug the cable in I get no charging message nor sound. I have to turn the phone off and on just to get the battery symbol to show the correct battery life.
Anyway, when I explained all this she asked how old the phone was. I only got it end of Sep' early Oct' and to that she suggested I just request a new one as it was still under warrenty.
I placed my request yesterday for a replacement and am awaiting a result.

My main question is... is there actually anything wrong with my phone, because it appears to be working fine?? I was planning on going back to my dealer and getting them to deal with SE, but if there's nothing wrong with it, I don't want to go thru the hassle.
Milo: I'm in Perth sorry mate, but if it helps I got it done at Alltech - who I do not recommend whatsoever.
