the p8/900 is a very sophisticated device with seemingly endless capabilities. why then, are we stuck with the most horrible sounding hollow click when you touch the screen? why the f**k cant it make a cool "beep" like all other gadgets in movies and sci fi shows? does anyone agree that this would be nice? can anyone out there write a small piece of code which will give my p800 the ability to "beep" instead of click or silent?

Well seeing as in "Silent" you get a visual confermation of a screen touch, why not just set it to silent like everyone else.
Although i found a way to alter the voicmail tone in my P8 (p9 is now a changable voicemail tone i notice)
So by identifying the file, it may be possible to ad a small sound & rename the file.

exactly. i still want an application which will offer configurable system sounds. like a wav alert when you change base station for example, or when a download is completed, or when a dialogue box appears etc...
but most importantly a BEEP! click sucks ass.
DEVELOPERS! HELLO?
@pachy i was thinking the same. presumably the click sound is some sort of audio file (obviously) but where the hell is it and is it rom? its such a tiny file though, that it might exist within, and as an integral part of, a larger file. anyone who is willing to do some homework?.....

Yes, i just looked & couldn't find it, BTW i set my laptop to an audio notification when a BT send to my P9 is finished, so thats covered for me.
I do think a noise for a screen tap might drive me crazy, actually i could use that as my excuse when the "Doctors" arrive.
