Does anyone know how to get around the phone password on a T68i? I haven't used this phone in over a year, i don't remember the password, and there is a phone number I need desperately in the phone book. Any help would be appreciated. I'm going to loose my mind if I don't get that number out of this piece of $#%^#$. Oh the carrier was ATT wireless in the States. Thanks for all your help.

If you don't remember it you can go to a SE servicecenter and ask them to 'read' the password for you. They may require proof of purchase. Make sure that it is the phone lock code you are looking for and NOT the PIN or PUCK.

...or insert the SIM card you originally used with the phone (assuming you still have it)

It's the code that let's you use the phone after restarting or powering up. The sim isn't locked if that's what you suggesting. I use to have my phone lock when it turned on after it was off, cause my ex-chick was shady, and I turned it off when I went to sleep, knowing that I had no idea what goes on when I'm sleeping! ATT wireless store can get it for me? Sweet I can do that tomorrow then. Tanks a bunch!!!!!

Not the store. Their service center or SE's.

OK, this is how security code works.
If it's set to OFF, you are never asked for your security code.
If it's set to ON, you are asked for your security code whenever you try to change specific options, and whenever your turn your phone
ON
If it's set to AUTO (the most commonly used setting), you are asked for the code whenever you try to change specific options, and whenever you turn your phone
ON with a
different SIM card. Once you've turned your phone
ON with a new SIM, and entered the code, you phone will remember the SIM and will not ask for the code untill you change it. That's why if you use your original SIM (which the phone remembers), you will not be asked for the code (assuming it was set to
AUTO)
