... about how many characters could be typed in the NAME field of the contact.
I've found that on the Z600, it's 30 characters.
I hope this helps the person who was asking and anyone else who is interested in knowing.

I just tried on my p800 and I typed 50 characters and it was still accepting characters, I stopped at 50. On Sman the characters for the bluejack message is limited to 20. I assume its not how many characters the contact name field of the sender phone can accept but how many characters the contact name field of the accepting phone can accept is what matters. I have to check this with some friends phone now.

write your bluejack message in notes(Calander menu..),then send via notes...this enables you to write long 'notes' to unsuspecting nokia owners, with out the limitation of the name field capacity..

Cool!Well,to tell the truth,I started to worry. I've never bluejacked, but i know how to. When i heard about the char limitation,I got disappointed...

Can you actually send notes to Nokias, though?
I've been testing what I can send to Nokias via Infra red because that's all my 6610 has and all you can see in the contact is Name and email so I know only to use these fields for BJ's to Nokias.

I don't think you can send notes to Nokias.
I have a note in my T610 for when i find other T610 users but I tried sending a note to my dad's iPaq and to my P900 and the iPaq just spits it out and can't read it and my P900 reads it but with all the mime info at the top.
I've never actually tested with a Nokia though... I just assumed it wouldn't work.
