Does anyone have any practical experience with this? I have a T68i and the reception has always been marginal in my house, working only in one corner of the second floor. As I recall my Nokia 8260 was better and the much older Ericsson phone I had was much better than both. I am starting a "campaign" with T-Mobile to try to replace the handset since the reception has gotten worse over the last year. I would consider upgrading the phone to the 610 if I felt that I would get better reception to go with the increased feature content. Has anyone made such a switch? Can you comment one reception in fringe areas?

Maybe i cant compare this but i bought a p800 after the t68i because my reception wasnt good. The p800 was slightly better but now i have samsung and in the same place reception is much better. My guess is that t68i --> t610 wont make that much difference This message was posted from a WAP device

Admittedly, coverage and service reception on the T68i with AT&T was definitely a problem A LOT with me, and a lot of the time I'd be talking with someone, the reception would go to 0 bars (the red flatline!), Id still hear them but they couldnt hear me, then the call would disconnect.

Also, my PC is in the basement of my house, and despite me being next to a window, the T68i would suck hard if I tried to talk from my computer.

I read a lot of user comments and reviews on the T610 before I got mine, and everyone said the reception was still pretty crappy and exactly the same as the T68i. But it seems to me like the phone performs a lot better comparatively! I can talk from my computer here in the basement, I havent yet had a dropped call (although its only been a few weeks) due to reception (although both my T68i and T610 have been plagued with a strange problem where if im in a phone call longer than an hour it will just disconnect-- maybe its some 'safety feature' like if you call someone in your pocket, it disconnects after a long time so its not in a call with some sucker in your phone book until you pull out the phone and look at it?) but when that happens, my reception is always FINE.

Ive been pretty satisfied so far, but apparently results may/will vary!

Going by bars on the meter alone, my old T68m->i has always had consistently better signal than my mates T610 in marginal areas (same network).

And yes, we're both sad enough to compare them regularly...

reception differences between both models is marginal, if you compared 2 T610's on the same network you'll find differences between the same models.

looking at bars on the phone to compare different models means very little and by no means can be used to determine whether one model is overall better than the other.

current battery level as well as software version can also sway reception quality.
