I am just wondering here why many people are so crazy to buy a P8 or a P9??? I know that majority of the members here at ESATO are SE die-hard fanatics, well I am too - at times! Considering it's very expensive price and kinda 'thick' external appearance, what else did you like to make you 'finally' decide to buy one??? I really would love to own a P8 - practicality wise, rather than a P9. A Nokia 7650/6600 would be a nice alternative too considering it's cheaper price. What's your take?

Suggest you do some research on the capabilities of the P900. This is a complex and sophisticated Smartphone and it is good idea to understand its features.
Here are few places to look at
1. A
thread a few below this in the list
2. A review at

Thanks Jah, and I just did! Well I am more interested to get replies perhaps on a personal point of view. I've made a rundown of P8's and P9's great features, that's why I just love to have one too, only setback for me is it's very hefty price (can buy 2 brand new fones just for the price of one P8 or P9). Wanna know more . . .

I am business person and I have to work away from home a lot. Now my P900, and P800 before, allow me to make business and private a lot more interesting:
1. Manage business data (Contacts, diary, to-dos, data on technical matters, etc)
2. Contact business colleagues - voice and SMS (I use my laptop for business email)
3. Surf WAP and and www when I have a free moment (e.g. lunch time, or when waiting for someone etc)
4. Allow me to listen to MP3s, using quality headphones not the SE ones, when I am staying ina hotel etc
5. Watch short movies of my daughter and wife, again when away from home (sob..sob..)
6. Read ebooks, again when in a hotel etc.
7. With the BT link I can surf www with opera when at home, using my ADSL service over BT
8. Take pictures and videos of special moments
All round, I use my P900 much more than the seperate Nokia 6310i and Clie Palm that were my previous tools. The UIQ s/w and form factor of the P900 make it a definitive Smarphone IMO.
I hope this helps!

I have four children and the amount of letters they bring home about plays, functions, reminders etc etc, i use the calendar to keep me up to date (my dairy doesn't alarm me you see).
I can listen to music when i go do the shopping or when I'm at the gym!
It has a huge memory so I can store loads on it.
Can play games while i'm waiting for kids to come out of school lol.
and it has a full browser (with opera's help) instead of a crummy wap browser like i've had with all my previous phones.
It does the job of about 4 devices, all in one rather funky lookin package, ok it's a bit on the pricey side, but it's a damn good phone!
I now consider myself a fully fledged P900 fan!

IMHO, to compare a Series 60 phone to a P8/9 is unfair.
The P8/9 are called PDA phones - something no 6600 can ever lay claim to - because they have a proper method of text input (defined as handwriting recognition or a full QWERTY keyboard).
A correct comparison would be against the 9210i or xda/II, but I'll take the P9 any day. :-)

well those who havent experianced a p800 or p900 will never truly understand the logic behind spending £500+ on a phone but i can assure you the Nk 6600 and any other series 60 device does not even come close to the greatness of a p800 or p900
After getting a p800 and p900 my life is a lotmore organised and i can do a lot more things such as watch movies or TV shows on my phone listen to music on my phone make calander entries and sort out my tasks etc etc. For those who cant afford one a 6600 will give you a good mobile experiance but its nothing in comparision to a p900 or p800.

The 6600 comes VERY close to the P900. Its surpassed the P800 already (but then again so did the 3650). You cant say the 6600 doesnt come close because it most certainly does!!

You sure??? Your'e talking about Nokia's 6600??? Cuz thats a freakin' hilarious statement to make. Makes me wonder if you really work for Nokia and you are here to start vicious rumours about Nokia phones like that one in specific being better that Px00 phones...
And the 3650!!! dont get us started on that piece of crap that looks like It was passed out of the arse of a cow infected with Foot and Mouth at a high rate of speed.
