> P900 Sync Problem with Outlook
Bookmark topic
I have a very strange behavior: When I try to sync my 250 contacts with outlook and the P900 Sync-Station 1.2.5 not every address is synchronized. Just a about 60% of them are synced. Even when I enter a new address inside the P900 after syncing the contact is gone. All settings are OK. Any idea?

I know you said all settings are ok, but have you made sure that the synch is set to merge entries
there are about 4(i think) options to choose (not being able to look now)
1. Phone over-rides outlook
2. Outlook over-rides phone
3. phone and outlook are merged with latest data
4. all merged
so basically check the sync settings again. I always use the 3rd option
EDIT:
Also outlook brings up the message about a program trying to access the data and gives you an option of how long to open it up for - maybe with 250+ entries 1 minute(default) is not enough - try extending the opening time.

I have another problem.
In the contactlist in P900 there are normally two numbers for mobile (1 home and 1 work). The home mobile number will not sync to outlook. And if I add another normal home number - totally two home number - the second will not go over to outlook.
I think you can configure outlook but how can you set up the exactly bindings you want? In the syncprogram for T68i you can set bindings by your self. I cant find this option in the sync program for P900.
Also, I had a Palm before I got my P900 and there is a phone field called "other" and its in my outlook like "other" also. How can I set up to sync this number too my P900?
Help !!!

Thanks for your feedback.
I put the "Access" massage to 10 min. That is not the problem.
The merging option is just for the Full Synchronization.
There I selected merge computer and phone.
Nevertheless in Outlook I have 170 addresses. When I say Full Synchronization I have also 170 addresses in the phone. After another sync the phone has only about 50 addresses. Outlook still has 170. When I do changes in the phone they are partly transmitted back to Outlook.
Very strange....

I had strange behavior too with my P800 and Outlook, and now with my P900 I have the same.
My problem was the calendar... it never sync... the only solution is REINSTALLING OUTLOOK ( I mean repair installation option)..
And now.. when I have any problem with outlook I reinstall it and ALL WORKS FINE AGAIN!!
Is strange.. but it works.. try it..

I have the same problem. Have over 3000 contact entries, but only about 60% syncs. Did the "repair Outlook" option fix the problem for you? Or is there a settings problem I need to fix?

This might work!
Syncing contacts on p900 with outlook 2003 was not working well for me. It would only sync new contacts that I added after my first sync ever with my new laptop. So it would only sync 2 or 3 out of the 71 contacts that I have. Since it only syncs new contacts, I added the old contacts to outlook 2003 by exporting all the contacts on my p900 as a VCF file. To do that you go to address book on P900 go to contacts then choose "send this folder" then choose how you want to send it. I did it using infrared. After I transfered all.vcf to my computer I imported the file from windows address book, because it didn't work when I imported it from outlook. Then I imported the contacts from the address book to outlook. Now I have all my contacts on outlook and when I sync, everything works out fine. It even syncs the old contacts when I modify them or anything.
If you think this is going to work for you and need more help. PM me. Does this forum have private messaging? :|
