Hi!

Just read this article on the Norwegian newspaper www.aftenposten.no. The gouvernment will make it easier for the customers that gets e.g. problems with their mobilephones, to get it swapped and fixed! They will give the stores 2 chances to fix the problem, or else the customers can demand a refund or a new phone Read the article here http://www.aftenposten.no/nyheter/iriks/article.jhtml?articleID=315720

It is in Norwegian.

It'll be really interesting if this law is put to life for real! Because I don't think it will without some modifications!

This is like the 'lemon law' in the U.S., which also apply to new cars.

Roughly translated:

"You will have at least these rights of bought products:

- Fault with a product within 6 month from day of purchase, shall be considered fabrication fault.
- You can as a general rule choose between repair and delivery of a new product.
- Repair of product shall be done without charge, within reasonable time, and without risk for the customer not to get his expense back.
- The seller does not have right to more than two repair attempt before you can demand a replacement of the product.
- The customer is entitled to a free replacement product during the time of repair.
- You can cancel the transaction or demand a price reduction if the seller doesn't follow the law. The seller can only reject a cancellation of the transaction if it is a minor defect with the product."

This is actually a law directive from the EU.

All community countries were advised to transform the European law into national law until 01.01.2002 the latest.

So since then all community countries got such respective sections in their private law.

Let's see how the consumer will be protected by those new regulations.

cheers,

Ericsson already has a policy, if you return your phone 3 times, you get a refund or new phone. This is nice Ericsson but we need better laws to "protect" us from the stores selling the phones. They completely write off their responsabillity when it comes to phones. This law might make some stores refuse to sell some models, like that Warehouse deal over in some country I can't remember because I read it in the toilett this mornin..........

DON't REALESA A PHONE BEFORE IT VIRTUALLY BUG FREE.... lot less hassle for the producer, the salespoints and US THE CONSUMERS......
