@ mobile-it a firmware update should be available shortly, as most P900s have been recalled due to problems, i'm not sure if this is just Orange software related. This message was posted from a P900

@BlackBauer24

Most P900s have been recalled?? Does that mean you can't get them in the shops now?

Do you know what faults have caused the recall? My Orange P900 has a few memory problems and the battery warning comes even when I have over 60% battery left, but there is nothing too major. Do you think existing owners can swap their P900s for the "fixed" version, or will it just be a firmware update?

it's mostly bugs that's been fixed in newer versions... and it can also be a few improvements... see this thread for info on the latest firmware for T610. You can also find more if you use http://www.esato.com/board/search.php (when it's working) and read Answers to the most common questions on Esato Forums

I've just spoken to Orange and they say there are no known issues with the P900

They knew nothing about any forthcoming firmware updates.

I don't think Contract carriers no squat about the phones they carry.... These carriers screw up the phones by putting their stupid software in them, but rely on SE to do all the troubleshooting... The good thing about going sim free is that you can go straight to the manufacturer (ie SE). However, if you own a contract phone the manufacturer would refer you to your carrier first for any legal,technical,financial repair issues... So far all the bugs I've heard on this forum about the P900 has mostly come from Orange contract holders.. I'd rather hold the manufacturer responsible. You won't catch me with a contract carrier customized phone ever..

Will the firmware updates for the P800 ever be avaliable as a download, instead of having to take the phone to a service center? Where I live it will be impossible to do this...
