Vodafone Spain today announces the launch of a unique promotion for the Christmas period: all national calls to Vodafone mobiles and domestic fixed line numbers will cost only 1 cent per minute, and this 1 cent cost will also apply for the sending of SMS and multimedia messages (MMS) to other Vodafone mobiles. The promotion, running form the 1st December to 31st January, has been designed by Vodafone to help its customers remain more connected during the festive season, enabling them to benefit from an almost symbolic tariff rate - and not only for voice calls, but also for the use of more modern means of communication, such as the sending of personalized multimedia messages.
All new customers connecting to Vodafone on both prepay and contract tariffs between 1st December and 31st January will automatically benefit from this 1 cent per minute/message promotional tariff. Existing Vodafone contract customers can also take advantage of these discounted rates by calling the customer services number on "123" and existing Vodafone prepay customers need only dial a short-code number to benefit.
"Christmas time always brings the increased need to communicate with the people that are close to you, and at Vodafone we want to help people be more connected, benefiting from new and evolving forms of communication. For this reason, our Christmas promotion has been designed to go beyond the simple offering of a new handset, aiming instead to make mobile communications more accessible to more people, whether that be voice, messaging or new multimedia services," explained Antonio García Urgelés, Director of Vodafone Spain's Consumer Business Unit. "Our campaign is also simple, devised to make it easy for new and existing customers to both understand and benefit from the promotion," he concluded.
With this promotion, both prepay and contract customers will be able to enjoy the best Christmas present possible: the opportunity to communicate and stay in touch with their own, without having to concern themselves with the cost - on average they can save over 50% on call costs compared to their standard tariff rates.
This latest promotion improves yet further on the hugely successful summer campaign ran earlier this year by Vodafone. That offer enabled customers to benefit from a rate of 1 cent per minute or per SMS to other Vodafone mobiles and now with the new Christmas campaign, customers can also benefit from this rate for all calls to national land lines and multimedia picture messages sent to other Vodafone mobiles.
Handset and Prepay Top-Up Offers
In addition to the tariff promotion, Vodafone's Christmas campaign includes a number of multimedia handset offers. Adding to the most extensive range of prepay mobile phones already available from Vodafone, the company is now offering customers the new Siemens A60 and the Alcatel OT525 at a cost of only 69 €, or a choice of the Siemens C60 or the Nokia 3410, both for less than 99 €. In addition, customers can also opt for one of a number of Vodafone exclusive2 or Vodafone live! handsets, including the Nokia 3200, Sagem my V-65 and Sony Ericsson T610, all of which have a colour screen and integrated digital camera.
In addition, Vodafone will double the credit value (up to a maximum of 30 €) of the first calling credit top-up made by all new pre-pay customers before 15th January 2004.
Completing the Christmas promotion, Vodafone is also offering a range of discounted multimedia handsets for contract customers. They can choose to purchase a Siemens A60 for as little as 35 €, the Siemens C60 for 45 € or the Sony Ericsson T230 for only 60 €. Alternatively, for customers opting to take out a 24 month contract, Vodafone is offering them a Vodafone live! handset, the Nokia 3200, at the special offer price of only 139 €.
