just recently bought a card reader and after doing some copying n pasting of files(mp3s) from the duo to my desktop and what happened to me is that my p800 can no longer find the mp3files.

when i opened the audio player, there is nothing. and so as anyone would do, check the file manager n storage manger but stil could't find it. but the strange thing is that when i checked on the free space, its only left with 0.2MB when all the mp3s are gone. (they take up about 40 MB) and after all i've done, i decided to reformat and to take the trouble to install every apps again. but to my horror i jjust could not do it! it says "In Use" and i do not know what the hell is in use when everything is set to the default(wallpapers, screensaver, ringtones).

any help would be appreciated
thanks

If you have Sman or Task Manager use one of these to turn off any apps. Alternatively reboot the phone. You should now be able to format your Duo card.

If I remember of one of the post it has something to do with the folders on the MSD or something like that and is the MSD not locked ?

I have had file copying issues with a MS reader on WinXP... Apparently the windows explorer tree would show the file was copied into the destined folder however i couldn't locate it on the stick afterwards.. Apparently, windows creates some ghost image of the file that is being copied to it and a delayed write error prevents the actual file from really copying.. Thus, if you take out your mem stick from the reader much sooner you assume it copied when it hasn't. I sometimes had to copy it about 3 times before it really copied.. I think its a memory stick and win explorer bug... So formatting the system was really never necessary.. I'd get an app closer to try to solve the "in use" issue for now. Or better yet, just reset the phone
