I am pleased to say the dual sim i ordered for use on my p900 works very well, it's the type that you cut down your sims, put them both into one small sim sized holder, this then fits in the sim slot on the phone, switching is the usual power off, power on, system.

The phone remains exactly the original size & if you need to, you can make your cut down sims original size again by using the little adaptors included.
These are £5 to £20 on Ebay, (note all these are exactly the same although they are often advertised for specific phones).
Here is an example;

Tip, if you are using 2 sims from the same network, its often difficult/time consuming to see what sim is in use, so i found a way to tell in desktop mode, the calling card icon is "sim dependant" so by setting up that option then turning it to "off" position (icon goes to grey) you will find it only appears when the sim you set it up with is live, so you have an ON SCREEN indicator of which simcard is in use.

@BlackBauer24, Yea, it felt TOTALLY wrong doing it,but extreme care is needed & i went along with it for several comforting reasons detailed below,

1,Once done, they CAN be retrieved for single use in future.

2,I have had replacement sims sent to me free of charge in the past if it went wrong i could do that.

3, Once you have cut them & put them in the dual sim, they are not "Handled" again, so the size does not become a problem.

4, i hadn't noticed before but the "Flightmode ask screen" on startup & shutdown can be disabled by tapping on the signal indicator on P9, making sim switching proccess far quicker. when powering off/on.

can you post an image?

I'd also be interested in more details regarding the procedure to set up that gray calling card icon.

I just got one of these and cut the sims exactly according to the supplied templates and now neither sim works Obviously I'm not very happy about this, going to have to get new sims now!!

@Vermania, everytime you switch the phone off/on it changes to other sim, it works perfectly but you need to be very carefull when you cut the sims as it's possible to cut them wrong, also i WOULD NOT reccommend using the templates they give you, better to make a perfect fitting small piece of card to fit in the little compartments, then get your sims to the exact same size by extreme care.

@M@rtin, if are your sure you cut the corner in the right place, you must just have a faulty unit, sorry to hear of your problem, mine works perfectly, although for some strange reason it wont swop over if i put it in an old Nokia i had in the cupboard, as i only intend using it in the P9 thats not a worry to me.
when you cut the sims down its impossible not to put fingers all over the contact faces on the sims & these need cleaning with a little meths after.

@yaesu, I have often looked at the method of posting pictures on here but as yet have never done it, so sorry to need to use a PC to veiw the pictures on the link in my first post. unless someone else can post the pic.

@oferlaor, Decide on the sim that you want the icon to be onscreen with. put that sim in the P9.
open flip tap on "phone" icon (top left)
then tap "edit"
then "preferences"_
then "calling cards"
type in you unlock code (default is 0000)
then tap new & add some made up name &_phone number
make sure the calling card mode is not in disabled mode then tap done.
if all was done right you should have the little triangular icon on screen & in open flip mode you can tap on the icon & set calling cards to "off" it should stay in view but now be in grey, this icon will go away when anothe sim is being used but reapear when your first sim is put back in use & it will tell you at a glance which sim your using (also you can get further reasurance by checking you sim contacts list after making sure the contacts on the 2 sims have slightly different entries)
i only use sim contacts list on my phone which has to be chosen everytime i write an sms but the extra few taps are worth it, if you have a sim you only use for calls (not sms) you can put #30# infront of all the numbers to withhold the number from people to stop them ringing you on your non default sim. ______________

I felt better after I branded my 3 sim accounts into 1 blank wafer.. The switching mode is quite similar...

@Bigfeat, unfortunately here in UK we cant use those, it was my first choice but the networks here are using sims that the algorithms on those cloning kits cant break so as yet cannot be writen to/cloned with those multi user sim readers/writers, i know people in South East Asia also use your type of sim & use the programable cards, it seems US sims are also the old type than can be cloned in this way.
In UK its NOT been possible to use a Simmax since 2002.
