> weird t68i bug (?)
Bookmark topic
lately, i've been experiencing something weird with my phone. i'd hear the sms alert, and check my phone only to find out that there isn't any new message. i'm the only SE phone user in the office, so i know the unique sms alert tone is caused by the phone.
anyone else experiencing this?
it's a t68i with the R8A015 firmware on Globe (PH) network.

Not a bug. Its the sms status report. Tells you if the reciver gets the sms or not. You can switch it off if you want. Try send a sms to a phone that you know is on. Look at the phone, takes just about 15 sec. And you will see the statusreport in the screen and of course hear the sms alert.

er ... i dont think so. my network doesn't support sms status report (they used to, but it's no longer available.)
Besides, with an SMS status report, you get an SMS, not just the alert tone.

Actually, I think there are 2 kinds of sms reports. One that is send from your provider in the form of an actuall sms, and one that is like the one I have (and Krippe described).

As I said, send a sms and see if you get a report.
@Mrzammler.
You are right. 2 kinds, actually sms and flash sms. Its the later one SE supports. They only show in the display in 30 sec or so and then they disapear.

I had that sometimes and I'm 100% sure that every sms that I have send, I received the status report. Sometimes I get that tone for no reasson. And I thought that I was crazy or had something wrong in my head

@biskwit
i'm not aware of any PH telcos that allows status reports at the moment.
@mrzammler
oops. sorry about that. i didn't know that there are tones-only status reports. my network provider only used regular SMS before. and flash SMS is also supported, but it's remains in your inbox until you've read it.

I keep meaning to ask the same question,
i also have (VERY rarely ) but it happened the other day, it always seems to be when my phone is in my pocket & no sms (or report has arrived) i put it down to my imagination.
BUT, as mentioned i also am aware (had it on my old T68) of a "Flash report" for a short time before sms reports were available on Orange T68m's, you would get a sms report that would make the alert sound, then flash "sms delivered" on screen then automatically remove itself all in a few seconds, you would only catch the visual partt if the phone was in front of you. no record of the event would be tracable.i don't think these reports are sent now days as it was a couple of years ago i last saw one.
@Gowin, i thiink its the brain playing tricks, i think a similar background noise triggers us to "Make up" the missing bits of sound, same as when you think you heard your name called in the street.
