The guy in the shop told me today that you dont have to have it for three months

I have had a quick glance of the contract and it gives no fixed period

To throw a spanner in the works, I was told by more than one person at CPW, via email and in person, that O2 requires you to have the initial contract for 6 months...

So beware !

I know what has been said, but was just suggesting that difficulties may arise... we can all harp on here about how things should be done... though in reality, it doesn't always work in that way... the very same sales rep I mentioned previously told me personally, as is mentioned somewhere on here, that you don't have to wait 3 months on Orange... but is she going to pay the remaining contract when things go wrong... I doubt it... (won't stop me trying to change it though, thats granted, but i am aware that they may try to claw the money back, and so am prepared in advance)

I was just urging a reality check to what may happen and what is widely accepted by a lot of mobile phone sellers...

I mentioned CPW, not the poster, I don't know where they are getting the phone from... different stores, different rules... just be sure you know what you are agreeing to before you sign anything...

somebodys head at o2 is going to role.

basically on equivelent tarifs on other networks the p900 still cost £200

there is no way this phone should be free.

i was talking to the sales assistant today and she said that you have to use the £45 a month tafif for 3 months before i can switch down to the £16(!) a month one.

the maths doesn't work because the phone is £250 on the £16 a month tarif.

so i'm going to pay £30 a month extra for 3 months, thats £90

also i know for a fact that sometimes you don't even have to wait 3 months. a mate of mine downgraded after a week. he only had to pay one month of his initial contract - it wasn't a p900 tho.

they are still selling the o2 at that tariff and i have checked a number of times with customer services and they state you have to stay on the tariff for three months (although i agree that there is nothing in their terms and conditions). I am not too concerned at staying on this tariff for three months as it is still a brillient deal...the deal is suppose to run until the end of the month although i am pretty sure it will be pulled very soon

I was able to downgrade my tariff on o2 retail after 2 weeks of the start of the contract. I done it thru their online bill website at www.accountmanagement.o2.co.uk It was easy just one click and it worked, no questions asked. I had got a t610 on the £20 tariff and downgraded to £15 tariff. This message was posted from a T610
