Hi people, I'm new to the Esato forums. Great site.
I recently bought a T610 and think its a great phone. There's one problem, I can't use GPRS (although I can use GSM). Can anyone please help me. I contacted T-Mobile and were of no help.
Thanks.

Welcome to Esato
A bit more info please, like what are you trying to do using GPRS (mail, wap etc) and what error messages do you get?

I'm trying to access WAP using GPRS. When I try to do this, the phone says loading but does this for about 3 or 4 minutes. Also, the phone indicates GPRS is available but cannot be used. Is my settings for GPRS wrong or is it to do with T-Mobile? I can access WAP via GSM though.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks.

If the gprs symbol is not filled in then either it's down or your are not subscribed to it. Your phone setting won't matter if that is the case.

I had similar problems with my T610 on Orange, the following eventually did the trick.
1. Make ABSOLUTELY sure that you are subscribed to a GPRS package at T-Mobile. I realise that you've probably already done this, but then I should have got GPRS as standard as part of my monthly contract yet still had to ring Orange customer service up to get it activated properly.
2. Check that, when you go on WAP, there is a 'sloped shaped' indicator above your normal signal indicator. This is your GPRS signal strength indicator. If it looks like an 'empty box with two sides' (appologies for the poor discriptions) then it indicates that you either do not have GPRS in your area (in which case there's not a lot you can do other than wait until T-Mobile bring it to your area or go on another network) or that your GPRS reception is, at this time, crap
3. Otherwise, get back to T-Mobile and GIVE THEM HELL until it's sorted out! It took me a good four or five goes to get Orange to solve my GPRS problems, one particular little ars**ole on the end of the phone tried to tell me that my T610 couldn't use GPRS!
It maybe worth mentioning that GPRS, in my opinion, isn't a great deal better than 'standard WAP' in terms of performance anyway. It's just cheaper if you get a good monthly package, that's all. like I said, just my opinion
