I had some videos on my P800 that I could view full screen with the hacked video camera program. Now when I play them on the stock P900 video player, the full screen mode don’t quite stretch the video all the way to the edges. Instead of a full screen movie type ratio it is squished horizontally a bit. I did try a search but could not find anything on this. Can I encode movies that will utilize the whole screen?
Thanks.

Thats strange, because my Terminator 3 video is full wide screen on my P900, and this was beamed directly from my old P800. the pre installed videos only seem to zoom to a ratio of 14.9

That Terminator 3 clip is full screen on my P9 & was on P8, what the p9 does is find the "Best fit" so if its a wide screen movie it crops top/bottom, but sometimes i get a mp4 that is cropped all round, although when played in p8 they were also cropped all round.

I think it depends on how the video format is before encoding.
A 4:3 format video doesn't always play fullscreen,
A 16:9 format video does play better on my P900.
Thats my thinking anyways.

I beg to differ.... I think different people will produce different results based on their knowledge on video authoring and the tools and resources they have available to them... I can atest that I have had very clear pictures with full screen mode.. Check out the pic below. You can make out Neo's face in Matrix Revol. even with the bad pic I took of it.. When viewing it up front and in person I have had most people tell me the quality is almost DVD like in this Widescreen mode.. I would have to say I watch about 90% of my movies in Widescreen mode for the fact that the quality is good enough where you notice no detoriation when stretched to that aspect ratio..

One of the clips is an Ice Age short that someone posted here shortly after the hacked camcorder program had been made available for the P800. The playback was good and it used the entire screen. On the P900 everything is a little thinner than it should be and there is a ¼ inch black bar on each side. I thought it was a little odd that the same files played full screen on the P800. One of the files was made with Quick Time and it’s 3gp add on.
Anyone know an easy place to download a video that they know runs full screen with no black boarders at all, just so I can see it work.
Thanks

The video might have the black edges in the file itself. Then I guess the P900 thinks it's part of the video and thus doesn't stretch it out fully.
