I'm not quite sure where I'm going wrong with this, I've installed the Opera programme from the CD onto my phone, and when I ask it to go to a web page, it connects and then does nothing. Just the blank white screen. The little globe 'connected' icon at the bottom looks as if it's doing something every now and then, but I don't get any pages, and it says connected at the top.
I've asked it to use the same O2 GPRS connection that works fine with the normal internet browser, and loads pages when requested. What am I missing?

There are two types of GPRS connection usually. Are you using the internet one rather than the WAP one with Opera?

I've tried to check everything I can think of, and as far as I know, I've got O2 WAP GPRS selected as my preffered connection.

Why did you install Opera from the CD? It comes pre-installed on the P900.

Not I mine it didn't. For interest version 278 is available at sonyericsson p900 support. Wasn't the latest one 274?

I sometimes have the same problem as well. I am not very satisfied with the Opera browser on my P900. On my P800 it was the best thing to mankind.
It irritates me that it always asks me how to connect every time I click on the O. Maybe this can be fixed but I haven't figured it out yet. Also, as mentioned by earlier posts, I can't go into some websites, it justs turns blank.
I never thought the default browser would work better than Opera but on my P900 it does.

AJ I had the same problem with my O2 connection. I solved it by calling the data services people at O2. They then activated my APN at THEIR end. Once they have done that you can set up Internet over GPRS as well as wap over GPRS. You should get full internet access after that.
Hope that helps

Go to your control panel, connections, internet accounts and set your account to preferred. It'll stop asking you.

You misunderstood, as Omar has reiterated, you need to select the internet GPRS for Opera not WAP.
