Esato is an international site wich, first and fore most, covers phones and products, but it can be used as a direct contact link between countries as well.

Christmas is just around the corner and we all have different traditions we cherish. I thought I’d tell you how my xmas always start.
With a helping hand form Masseur I’ve managed to collect pictures of it as well.

During the last week of November every year I go to see the christmas tree Norway sends as a gift to the British people being cut. It’s work related but I really enjoy being there.
The history of the London tree goes back to 1951 and is a token of thanks from the Norwegian people to the British people for the help we received from them during the 2nd world war.
“The Christmas Tree Cutting Ceremony”, as it’s called, is being covered by he media every year and there is always representatives from London present. The Lord Mayor of Westminister is there, the mayor of Oslo is there, the British ambassador is there, the international school in Oslo is there, veterans from the war is there, I’m there and a lot of others.
Special this year was “Blue Peter” from BBC was there to cover it all with a little boy who won the trip on their TV programme. (Read the facks on the tradition in the link)

I took a few pictures thinking it could be fun sharing this with all my friends here on Esato:

The tree before the ceremony.

The mayor of Oslo, the Blue Peter boy, Liz Barker from Blue Peter and the Lord Mayoress of Westminister chopping away.

"Doing a grand job there little fellow!"

Oslo International School singing christmas carrols.

The tree are prepared for transportation whilst BBC is filming.

I asked Masseur to take a few pictures of the tree in Trafalgar Square:

It's fun to see how one can follow the tree throug Esato!

I love this time of year!
I’d like to see other members of Esato share their special traditions as well.

Merry Christmas to you all.

(Please say happy xmas here and use this topic for your tradition reports.)
