Hi all.
Just wondering if this is possible and if so what it might cost me.
I work as a P/T professional fireworks operator, putting on shows for the public throughout the year. Some times I work on huge shows with lots of helpers, other times smaller shows where it's just me on site. When it comes to firing the display, if I am on my own, I have to juggle a torch, firing sheet, stopwatch and the firing box. Not easy with one pair of hands.
This week, just before I fired a show, it suddenly dawned on me. It would be great if I could have a program on my P900, that offered a backlit digital stopwatch (finding a normal backlit stopwatch has proved impossible thus far), and would be better still, if the stopwatch program had the facility for me to program in time events that triggered a sound file, for example a voice sample that said "Fire".
With this I would be able to program in say 20 events over a 10 mintue period, as per my firing sheet, and then use headphones with my P900, and allow the P900 to prompt me when to fire the next set of fireworks in the display.
Ideally, the stopwatch would count up to at least 30 minutes and allow for up to 100 time events to be programmed over that period (for the really big shows). All using the same sound file.
Would something like this be possible on the P900? And if so, what would the likely cost be for me to commission such a program, as I appreciate it would have limited marketabilty/use to anyone else.
Just thinking aloud really, but thanks for listening and I look forward to any comments.
Cheers

That'd be fully possible. Now you just have to wait tfor someone to develope such program.

Malcs - I blow up a big pile of fireworks most weekends, though perhaps not quite in the same way you're suggesting
Don't try it kids - fireworks are bl**dy dangerous - play safe!

How much force do i need to detonate a kilo of NH4NO3 with 10% fuel oil? Will it detonate with a small azide charge or do i need something more substantial?
