I got the impression from reading somewhere (here, a review, the manual, something!) that if you put the P900 in the cradle it would charge.

Mine does not seem to - the green light comes on the front of the adaptor, and sync works fine, but the phone does not go into charge mode at all. Is this normal? Seems like a really annoying omission if I have to keep taking it out and charging it separately?

Also, I tried sticking my T68i into it, but nothing was found. My PC at work doesn't have bluetooth or Irda - had hoped that would be a really easy way to copy my contacts (can't beam them, as only have one SIM between the 2 phones).

Is this defective or just normal ?

You're suppose to attach your wall charger underneath/below the desktop sync "cradle" that came with the P900 so that it would charge your phone while you're synching.

Just plug the power supply into the syncstation and then you can charge it while it is in the syncstation

I havent tried charging it while it is still connected to the computer though

I have tried charging it whilst it is connected to the computer, this works fine.

Maybe having the cradle charge the battery is not a good thing - possibly inadvertently promoting excessive charges of the battery in some cases - thus causing the user to obliviously reduce the life of said object?

Then again, yours might just be faulty and I might well be talking crap...

Thanks!
Had spotted there were 2 gaps for cables to come out of the back of the dock - wondered why, didn't even think to look for the socket for my charger...

I assumed that because USB interfaces can carry a decent power supply (eg webcams, card readers etc), SE would have used that rather than make me plug in something else under the desk

Guess it makes the design cheaper.
