By default my P800 starts up with an annoying 'Welcome to Orange' welcomenote, there doesn't seem to be a way round switching it off either, I tried the 'User Greeting' function in Control Panel, no luck there..
If anyone can help me to remove the Orange welcome note, it would be greatly appreciated.

cool, gonna spill the beans switch ?
I been searching round the C: drive of the phone, opening various files in notepad etc, so far can't find the message, is it something I need to actually do on the phone itself ?

Erm. I'm sure that whoever it was that posted a bit further up isn't really enjoying this.
To repeat for him...
"It's an Orange sim thing."
as in....it's built into the SIM card, therefore, unless you have some weird (and probably illegal) way to hack simcards, it's there forever.

Yes the "Orange information menu" is a sim thing, but thee startup/shutdown screens is more likely NOT to be a sim feature because the sim has to be without that feature when put in other phones.
I have it on good authority that the P900 Orange startup/shutdown is a firmware file that is NON removable (EVEN USING FULL VERSION FILEMANAGER) unless the phone is flashed with new firmware, i noticed that the automatic update service does not let me update an Orange phone, which i will be complaining to Orange about.
