I hope someone can help me on this one, i got a p900 yesterday and today, i installed Sman and wanted to get a clean snapshot so i turned it off and when i turned it back on it came up with a "Wrong SIM card" error and i have tried 3 other sims on different networks and they don't work either. I have also formatted the internal disc via the services functions and still no hope. I will be taking it back tommorrow if i get no hope from this plea, i just don't want to wait for another since the one i bought was the only one they had.

I dunno if it would, i've tried to do the online software upgrade from SE but it says its having problems.

My p900's have been through the wars and this was one of the problems I had with my first one. I installed something and when I restarted the phone got that error "wrong sim card" I was like what the fu@# !

To cut a long story short your os is corrupt.

You need to 1) reflash your unit using online upgrade *
2) Send it back to SE
3) Take it back to the place you bought it from

I would do 1 but it may take a long time as the update site is getting hammered. Sending it back to sony you will be without a phone for at least a week. I have recoved a friends phone which had this fault also.
When it happened to mine the online update was just a rumor the best thing about it is your phone has to be off to update As if you get this error there is no way of getting back into the phone

The phone is faulty m8.

mine showed this behaviour after 1 week.
i brought it in a shop to do a software-update
but it broke off all the time.
so the shopkeeper called the
sonyericcsson-support and they said
that the internal memory must be defect.
now i'm already waiting for 3 weeks...
