i own a p800.i made a phone backup and then renamed the .ecs file to .zip and started browsing in it. I copied the c:\system\data\contacts.cdb file to my computer and then did a master reset. How can I restore this file? when i try using file manager, it won't let me! (it says it is in use).
i tried to save my contacts this way rather than using synchronisation, because with synchronisation the photos, ringtones, and other minor details of the contacts are lost.
please, guys, help me!

Next time when you want to backup contacts(and personal details on every contact like pictures or ringtones,voice tags,etc) do like this: go to contacts,select send this folder as MMS,then when the MMS composed you'll as attachment a file named all.vcf.This file must be saved on your phone then on pc.Now u can reset,after that u put all.vcf file on your phone and open it,it will save the contacts on phone.
But now is another way,i don't recommend it, just put your phone on backup mode,after the backup starts use Epocware fileman on pc and copy contacts.cdb on the phone in data.Then after the backup is over,you'll see the results. Good luck

especially, the second one , I was also trying to find a way to keep the phone off (so as to prevent it from using the file contacts.cdb) but then I would have no access method to the files. But with backup,yes, the phone switches off but still remains connected to the pc, so I'm going to try this as soon as I get home. Thank again!
