Hi,

My T610 seems to have its priorities wrong when choosing which word should be first in the list when using T9. For instance, when writing 5-2-6, the top word is 'jan' instead of 'kan'. 'Kan' (eng: can) is much more common than 'jan' (a name), and it used to be the first in the list. However, suddenly 'jan' has popped in front and now tops the list, even though I have never written 'jan'. And no, I haven't entered 'jan' into the dictionary either.

Have anyone else encountered this problem? (I couldn't use search today, the server was overloaded.) This should be a firmware problem, but I have R3C002 which is the latest according to the Esato FAQ.

its not a problem. The T610 (and Z600) T9 has been improved to offer the words that you have used more commonly before other words that also match the same key sequence.

It shure is a problem!

I appreciate the ability of the T610 to choose the most commonly used word to be on top of the list, the problem is that it doesn't do this correctly!

For instance, when pressing 5-2-4 the word 'jag' (eng: I) doesn't top my friend's T610 list, instead some bogus word that doesn't mean anything tops the list. This is clearly wrong --- she has never written the bogus word.

Has anyone else than me and my friend had this problem?

actually... i was under the impression that the dictionary rates 'common words' in alphabetical order, followed by 'non-common' ones.

I often have a word I do not use at the top of the list, followed by others that I do use. It would be nicer if they would vary, but I've found that words i've added myself and use often do float to the top of the list, and words that were already in there, do not. I fail to see why tho...

My experience is that the T610/Z600 totally loose the grip on dictionary reality now and then. When i find a bogus word at the top of my list i just sit down and enter the word i want to top the list about 20 times in a row like this "kan kan kan kan kan kan kan" well, i'm sure you get my point...

after that the popular word tend to be at the top of the T9 list.

In R1L the t610 use the most used words but in R3C it sorts the words alphabetic. That is the only thing i dont like about R3C compared to R1L.

Thanks captainsm, that helps! It feels really good to "kill off" a bad word in this way!

It is wierd though that this problem persists. One would believe that this would be something that SE would like to fix immediately.

If the problem is you've accidentaly added bogus word to your dictionary on your T610, you can easily remove them. Start writing a new SMS, hit More->Manage Words (guessing on the translation here since I have Swedish menus).
