I could not get a previous post to be bumped so here's some clarification on the current status for memory sticks + Pxxx phones.. The memory stick duo devices (ie SE Pxxx) does not support the memory stick PRO format... Wether it is a PRO or a PRO DUO. With that said the picture below shows that a device may come to accept the PRO format through firmware upgrade.. This insinuates that the PRO format compliance/compatibility is a software issue rather the hardware limitation..

As far as current methods explored to expand the memory on the Pxxx phones there is a "select" stick that is manufactured to incorporate two 128mb memory banks into one physical stick.. However, this select method is only mechanical.. One would have to physically remove the card from the device and switch the back and forth from each bank. This is not practical in that it doesn't allow one to manage both banks through software similar to what a partitioned hard drive on a PC does... There are two pictures below that displays the "select" switch.. However, the select stick is not released in the DUO format as of yet... The regular sized select stick is available for sale to-date..

Note: Some websites have advertised 256mb DUOs, however, this is a mistype or negligence on their part. When seeking clarification on any part please jot down the manufacturer # associated with the part... There have been no press releases of 256mb + Duos as of late... My guess is that the Pxxx may never support a memory stick larger then 128mb if its left up to SE. The ball has been in their court and they sure haven't shown us in indication that they are swinging at it.. I hope this clarifies a lot of questions and concerns for most...

It's called 'nonyabusiness'... Again everyone doesn't "know"... Or else it wouldn't have been discussed by some in another thread as early as 4 hrs ago... I didn't know you were an Esato spokesperson...

As a matter of fact, i've only been attending these forums for a few days, but i already think that the Vermin is the king of stupid, unnecessary and plain idiotic posts.

I would chill out on the postings, Vermin, and try other stuff like learnings, thinking and analysing? THat way you could actually add value to the community.

The post in this thread is NOT about watermarks, so let's kill the discussion. (and i do expect you to show your ignorance by replying to this message)...
Peace.

Thanks for the informative post, as a newcomer to memory sticks, I found it useful. Memory stick select wouldn't be ideal but I wouldn't mind it either, it means I could store movies or other mp3s on the other stick, wouldn't be too bad to swap them around.
