The phone is maybe locked to a payg SIM only. Have you been able to make any phone calls?

When i signed up to my first contract on o2 last year I was told that my contract SIM would only work in other o2 contract phones and not in my PAYG phone. Howver for me this was wrong advise, because my contract SIM does indeed work in my PAYG phone.

Yes, that sounds about right. Orange will let you use a payg sim once your contract ends. Overwhise you can try your luck with requesting a sim update - but i doubt they will be happy doing this. This message was posted from a T610

not sure then how to help.

Have you check the "service menu" to see what kind of locks are on the phone?

I think you might have to contact orange on this one

had same problem with z7. get orange to make sure sms is correct at their end. with mine i could reply but not do new. it was an ex contract phone but the sms wasn't correctly set up on pre pay account. you should get text through to enable it i think.
