This also happens on my T610, I find it happens when I just cover it with my hand for a few seconds then take away my hand the signal will be on 1 or 2 bars for a few seconds then will jump back up to full. I don't think theres anything you can do about it and does it really matter? I mean I don't think you would loose a call as a result of this happening now and again.

Yeah, my T610 signal meter jumps whenever I move the phone quickly. I think it maybe just that the signal strength indicator is updated more regularly than on other makes of mobile phone.

What's your reception like generally? Do you ever get bad sound quality or cut-off during calls?

Well, like I said it's probably just that the nokia waits longer before updating it's signal indicator. In other words, the signal varies just as much with a nokia but returns to normal before the nokia can display it.

I may be wrong about that of course, but if you're having no problems with reception, I really wouldn't worry about it It happens on my phone as well so it's probably just one of those things!

The indicator of SE phones are realtime while the Nokia's use an average value over a period of time. Think sinus curve versus flat line, the value is the same, just different ways of projecting it.

I'd say cycovision IS right. As long as I've browsed mobilephone forums there's been users complaining about the signal bars fluctuating very fast in comparison to Nokia. This just a feature of SE phones and also the good old Ericsson phones. Just dont bother

BTW this can be really handy too. I remeber the cellar apartment I used to live in four years ago. It had a nonexisting coverage in it except for under a lamp!? Just under this small lamp my lovely SH888 would have two bars and nowhere else. When the phone lay on the window sill I would have one bar and every time I had a call I had to quickly find the spot with two bars before I could start talking. It couldn't have been done with a Nookia

@ floke - Nice story!! lol I had similar problems with my first fone. Nokia 5146 on tmobile, I had to stand on a chair in my room to get even one bar. Ever since then I've steered clear of Tmobile like the plague.
