Hey guys, I'm new here. These questions have probably been discussed in an earlier thread but I've been really having a hard time using the "Search Esato:" engine. It keeps telling me: "Nov 4th
Due to extreme high server load are we not able to search the discussion forum right now.
We will soon add new hardware which will solve this problem." So please don't be too harsh if my questions seem redundant.
Anyway, I'm planning on upgrading my phone to a T610 and I have a few questions:
1. I frequently travel between asia and the U.S.A, therefore I need a triband phone. The T610 supports GSM 1900/1800/900, while the T616 supports GSM 1900/1800/850. Will both work in the U.S.?
2. Some people told me to just wait for the T630 which is comming out in a month. I know that the only major difference between the two is the TFT screen, the My Friends Feature and the ability to enlarge pics without affecting the quality (correct me if I'm wrong). But what I don't know is whether they have the same memory-2mb? If yes, that is too bad since that is one of the things making me have second thoughts about buying a T610.
3. Is there a big difference between the prices of the T610 and the T630? If so Is it worth it?

1. T610 is better to use since both 900 and 1800MHz networks are in use in Asia (and some networks are only 900). But sure, both will work in US.
2. T630 has the same memory size as T610
3. T630 will probably have a bit higher price then T610 when released

Oh ok! So, the T610 will work fine in the U.S. That's good news coz if you told me that I would need the T616 I would have a problem purchasing that model. What network do they use in the U.S.?
How about the price of the T630 compared with T610? Is it much more expensive?

Operators in the States vary depending on where you are. usally there is a choice in most built up areas.
I assume you will need a contact that will work both sides of the pond.
I use orange T610 here and it runs great over there using several partner operators. (I did notice that only some of them support SMS the last time I was over there.)

While you guys are still here I might as well ask this. I am a newbie when it comes to all the latest phones (my last upgrade was 2 years ago). Just wanted to ask what are Firmwares exactly? Are they the cellphones version of software? And is it true that the newer/later the firmware (ex. R3C002) the better it is? Pardon me if i sound so naive.

it's the operating system in the phone, just like Microsoft Windows (if you use that) is for your computer
new releases are intended to be better than earlier yes, but sometimes it's the opposite.

Why did SE even release the T616? I don't see any differences between them except that the T610(GSM 900) while the T616(GSM 850)!
So, out of all the Firmware released for the T610 what is the best? (generally/personally)
