Greetings everyone,

I would like to know whether it is possible or not to retrieve or delete SMS messages that has been previously stored on a SIM card.

I am sorry if this kind of thread has been posted before.

TIA.

Regards,

T-Shirt.

Yes you can read & delete sim stored sims,
Also NEW sms can be saved/moved to the simcard in flip open mode on P900.

When you think about it, reading & deleting sim stored sms's is an important feature on any phone, so your question is a rare one.

Thank you for your reply, Pachy.

I keep important SMS messages in my SIM card, although temporarily.

Coming to P900 from T610, I notice that I have lost my important messages on T610 at the time I switch the card for both phone. Luckily I have the copies of them on the card, but now I haven't known about any way to get those messages from the card.

I also heard that this issue has been around since P800.

I am sorry but I don't quite undertsand your question... did you get a brand new replacement sim card? Or you are using you existing sim card in your new P900?

If you are using your existing sim card in your new P900, there should not be any problems at all. The P900 should be able to "see" your sms saved on your sim card and is able to retrieve them and read them. The messages saved on sim card automatically appears in your sms inbox in the phone without having to do anything to the phone. You will know the sms are saved on sim if you see a sim card icon beside the sms. I hope this helps. If not, perhaps you can elaborate on your problem a bit more?

Hi PEE8888,

Thank you for your reply.

Now it makes sense to me that every SMS message that is stored in the SIM card is marked with a SIM card icon.

Silly me to miss the icon. My attention is always on SMS folders, so I didn't realize that P900 doesn't have nor created a special folder for the card.

Thanks for the explanation.

Regards,
