Hi there! Forgive my ignorance, but I just got my P900 a week ago. The old T68i used to have this handy feature that when you added the recipient to an SMS/MMS message you could either plug in the number, add a contact or add an Unsaved Number, i.e. a number you have either in your Call List or an SMS, etc. The P900 doesn't seem to have this. Is there a trick to do this without going to the call list and memorising or copy/pasting the number?
Cheers

When you have opened your sms from the person ( in open flip mode that is ) you will see the number at the top. When you tap on the word FROM you will have some options like "call", "send sms", "send mms"and "open cotact" since i havent recieved any sms yet from a person that isnt in my contact book. I am not sure if you will get a option "add contact" if it doenst reconise the number
Anyone ?

Is it that hard for people to read the manual that comes with their phones these days?
Anyways,
Make sure you have enabled the option add to contacts (flip open under the edit / preferences option when you're in the speeddial menu), then you should automatically get "add to contacts" when a "unknown" number to your phone is dialled / received.
If you want to add such a number to one of your existing contacts just use the copy / paste function, select the number first ofcourse, edit the desired contact and copy / paste the number there.
I hope this answers your question or were you asking something else?

I think he is asking is there any way to add a number to the 'TO' feild in the SMS without adding that number to the contacts list. For example, you got a missed call from an unknown person and you are trying to send an sms to him, when you are in 'Create SMS' and click the book icon you can get only the numbers in the contacts list not the numbers in the call list, in this case you don't want to add him to the contact list since you don't know him. so I think he is asking, is there a way to select a number in the call list when trying to send the message.
I may be entirely wrong

Anish hit the spot. Thanks J-man, from an sms it works actually fine. what I still haven't figured out yet is what Anish has described above. Assume I have a missed call from someone who I don't necessarily want to save to my contacts. Now I want to send him an sms. As soon as I click "To:" I only get the option to either type in the number or browse the phone book. In the T68i you had a third option, to browse "Unsaved Numbers". I thought this was very hand, but maybe I was the only one...?

Thanks guys. I guess I can live with copy/paste. doesn't happen too often anyway that I need to text someone who's not in my contacts. Was only one of the first things I noticed because when I used the phone for the first time I didn't have my contacts in there yet.
