Does anyone know whether the mp3 player for SE phones (can't remember the name of it, but the old one of them) supports WMA files or not? And now that I’m talking mp3, when you read about mp3 players it's often says that if you for example have a 128 mb player then you can have about 30 mp3 files but when it’s WMA you can store 60… Is that because a 64kbps WMA file has the same quality as a 128 kbps mp3? Hope you understand what I mean…

Wma is nt a compresd file so it wud be around 128kps mp3 is compressd and is 108kps.atrac3+ is 56kps with no loss in noticable quality!the less kps the less memory it takes up and mre u cn store

Because when you copy from a cd to the computer with Windows Media Player you can choose wich quality you want... And if you choose 64kbps it's no wonder why you can store twice as much than mp3 when 64kbps only is half the size of 128kbps... But since they write that you can store twice as many wma files as mp3 files on your mp3 player it would make no sence if it's not the same quality... Because then you just could choose 32mbps and have have 4 times as many songs in even lower quality... Hope you understand

Why don't you compress your mp3s to a higher value? Try grabbing them at 64kbs?
It depends on what file types your player supports, the best files for small size best quality are .ogg files, but hardly anything supports them.

Tested the difference between a 64kb/s WMA and 128 kb/s MP3 converted from an audio cd so no double convertion and you can hear a difference between the two, I lost quality in WMA format but if you use a device like a mp3 player I think you will not hear a big difference. I tested the WMA format a long time ago so now with the WMP 9 I don't know if there is still a difference of sound quality.
The format I prefer is Atrac 3 from sony but no one supports it so I still use mp3 as for me it's the best, if you consider support, quality, etc

The old one of mp3 players is hpm_10 (i use) and supports only mp3 format because as i said above hpm-10 is an old one ( its an ericsson ).......i think ,when it produced by ericsson (probably in 1998 or 1999) there was no wma or attrac3 file formats...

WMAs are the most horrible thing ever. Poor quality!!! I dunno about you guys, but I am a really music snob, and I can't listen to mp2s in anything less than 160k, preferably 192k. You can just hear the compression
