I just converted a WAV-file to AMR format and managed to transfer it to my T68i using Bluetooth.

Unfortunately, the sound only appears in the "My Sounds" folder making it impossible to play it during a conversation. Only sounds under the "Voice memo" heading are playable during conversation.

Can anyone tell me how I can get to play my sound stored in the "My Sounds" folder for the other end of a conversation? Alternatively, how do I get a sound stored in "My sounds" to be listed under the "voice memo" heading also?

It seems utterly senseless to me that SE should somehow restrict the sounds available for playback during conversation to those previously recorded on the same phone?

Thank you in advance for any replies!

Yes I left a message on my answering machine during the course of which I played the sound from "My Sounds". Unfortunately, it seems that although the sound is played through the speaker this does not get fed through the mike to the other end of the conversation.

In other words: Even though I am able to play the sound from "My Sounds" during a conversation this does not get transmitted to the other end of the conversation unfortunately.

There was no trace of the sound on the message that was recorded on my answering machine.

Thank you for your reply. The fact that you are able to play items from "my sounds" over a voice connection on your T310 leads me to believe that the issue could probably be corrected in a future firmware upgrade. I have the R8A015 release for my T68i, which I understand is the most recent one. It would be nice if I could persuade SE to implement this feature in future upgrades of their T68i firmware. Does anyone know what would be the proper channel for bringing such a suggestion to their table?

I have just done some more testing and have actually found a recipe for succes in regard to the above problem. Unfortunately the solution is rather clumsy and could probably be compressed a bit. Anyway this method should work for those of you with a T68i handset and wanting to play a sound from the "My sounds" menu for the other end to hear during a conversation:

If I place a call using my laptop as a bluetooth audio gateway running microsoft sound recorder in the background with bluetooth audio set as the default recording source and my regular sound card as the mixer unit I am able to play a sound from the "My sounds" menu on my handset that gets through to the other end.

I have been able to systematically verify that this method works on my T68i (firmware revision R8A 0015), which was not otherwise able to play a sound stored under "My sounds" for the benefit of the other party during a conversation.

I have just used this method to succesfully play a prank on my friend: Transferring to my handset a sample I downloaded from the Internet with a phony return call claiming to be from some video store that unfortunately could not find any of the X-rated videos that he requested. Calling him up at a time that I know he'd be unavailable and playing the sample as a message left in his voice mailbox.

It would be nice to hear from other T68i users if they experience the same limitations as I do in not being able to play sounds recorderd under "My sounds" during a conversation. Also, if anyone is able to reproduce this method and possibly shorten it up a bit I should be happy to hear about your results!
