probably because the screen sucks so bad without it that you cant see a thing, its just a stupid option to offer??

on the T68i you could turn it off and at least see the screen enough to turn it back on...

Correct me if I'm wrong but on my T610 after the screensaver the clock comes on the as you say goes darker and darker, BUT doesn't actualy switch off as you said it did, it just goes very very dark but if you are in a well lit room you can actualy see the clock still, then by pressing the + or - you can see the clock again with a brighter screen.

What I understand is your asking if you can turn it off? I don't think you can no, I don't think there is a option on the T610 (well on my T610 anyway) to turn it off. But there might be in later firmwares. I have R1A081 - but it is quite possible they have added option in newer versions.

Davieboi - You are right - after screensaver backlight is darker and darker - next is on, but very dark (but I can see all). So can I do something, that will be backlight very dark for all the times ?

THX and sorry again for my English

So do you mean, you lock your phone then the screen saver comes on and you want it to go automaticaly to the darkest backlight without going through the different stages of brightness?

No no - darker backlight (after phone lock, screensaver) is (for me) better than normal backlight (for example when I use phone - You know). Can I do darker backlight standard backlight in my t610 ??

i whant this too.
I can set a lower contrast (in normal menu and in >*but the result is bad.

The charger tips (shut down phone, plug the charger, and then turn on phone) don't work.

I have R3C firmware.
