I went to link below and followed instructions:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/updateservice/P900/frameset.htm
I did have some problems as you said but it worked on the third time. As they say: third time is the charm!!!

This can only be down 'online' as stated on the SE site. No 'offline' installation options.

Note;
Orange(UK) locked phones will need the first firmware upgrade done at an SE service center, after that the online service should work on them.

I have the same problem also. I went to the update site but everything just seems to stick on that same page! Anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?
Thanks, Dimitri

Anyone getting stuck needs to check there Java settings and make sure there are no firewalls on the unit. A simple way to do that is to ctrl + alt + del and kill as many 'processess' as you can. Then check your browser and make sure the java options are enabled. If all else fails download the Opera browser w/ Java for your PC and try to run the update through there.

Can I do this from the handset itself?
Oh... I guess not. Nevermind.
