Hey guys, wodering if anyone can help.
I have 1.7 ghz pentium 4 with win xp. Norton AV.
I think i have installed soft correctly but my p900 is not being detected. I think that I need the wizard to start up so that I can determine my phone but when I put the phone in the cradle, it connects but I just get unknown phone. USB is on com3 and the phone is detected but when I click on my p900 on desktop i get not connected?
I am usuing latest version on pc data suite from se and have unistaled norton personal firewall and done a reg cleanup.
Anybody got any ideas?????????????
I need to get this workin as its v frustrating without anything on the phone.
Cheers in advance

Have you enabled COM3? Look in Control Panel-->Mobile Phone options and COM-ports.

Here is a recent
thread on the same subject. Have a look at it; not too much rubbish just good information.
Summary of fixes:
1. If you have a firewall like zone alarm you need to uninstall it, uninstall PC Suite and then re-install PC Suite
2. Make sure on the PC in Control Panel/Phone Monitor the Com port selected for the USB connection is enabled
3. Try a different USB connection
4. Uninstall the USB drivers just in case they are corrupt and re-install
5. Ensure you are using the latest PC Suite s/w from the SE support web site (v 2.1.1 I think).
Good luck.
Edit: Sorry mate saw that you unistalled the firewall - but did you unistall PC Suite and then re-install it without the firewall?

com 3 is enabled in mpm in control panel and pc suite was a compleately clean install after removing firewall. I will try a new install of drivers but I doubt it as drivers were uininstalled after pc suite re install. I have tried 2 usb plugs and will try the rest,
What about antivirus???

try uninstall all the software and devices for your p900 then try install it again... if still cant, maybe win XP did used his own driver for your usb itself, try updating it...
hope that would work!!!

Try connecting directly to the PC USB connection rather than through a USB hub.
Mine works on a hub on one PC but refuses to connect through the hub on the second

I am one of those user that has had this problem for 1 week now. It allows me to sync my PIM info, but if I want to connect to the phone to upload videos and stuff it doesnt allow. Im running both Win2003 and WinXP. I have tried all the suggestions stated on the forum with no success. But another P900 can connect just fine on my USB port. When connect via a BT serial to my phone it doesnt give access even though it on a different port. Ok I guess maybe some of us have a problem that resides in the P900. So i will format my P900 and test this theory. If anyone has done this , tell me your resualts.

Spondas
Mate if you want to load multi media files, I assume on the Duo, you should really use a MS card reader/writer, PC Connect is much too slow for multi media.

re: Anti Virus
I have Norton as well and I have never had a problem with PC Suite. I think Spondas' suggestion that his problem may be with his P900 is interesting. Third party s/w, like App Forge and some games, do have unpredictable effects on the P900. So why try with a minimal P900 set-up as well (ideally format you c: drive). Also as another member suggested not use a hub, I have never used a hub....The only other thing to try is to ensure you have all the XP service updates.
