There was a rumour about this a few weeks ago, but i can't see any evidence why they would withdraw it - it's very stable in my view, certainly nothing that would warrant a withdrawl of sale.
But i still got mine flashed because i didnt wan't the orange customisation.

Ill remain sceptical until we hear more; sales staff will give you any excuse for not having it in stock, they seem to blow extravagant stories right out of their asses. It makes me laugh cos i visit phone stores a lot and every staff member thinks they know best but for some reason tells you something completely different to all his colleagues.
My mate works at phones 4u, he says on his training course he met the managing director:-

And the MD at carphone warehouse:-

Rumours about the Orange P900 being withdrawn due to software issues are strangely contradicting the FACT that they have still been available all the way through the "rumour".
No Orange phones that i have handled have had problems with the software & they are still available from CPW on Orange on the FREE higher tariffs, even after it was reported on here that they were now charging for ALL p900's on even the higher tariffs.
How do i know this ????
Well,
Another free P900 on Orange YP1000 just came in the post from them yesterday

& yes, this contract has been downgraded already.

Well I got mine in the post this morning and it's on orange!
Didn't know that you could switch the tariff's straight away, thought that you had to wait 4 months or something like that....

man, no matter how many times I post this no-one ever listens.
The P900 was NOT withdrawn. There was merely a shortage because one batch couldn't leave the distribution center due some sort of software error (or so i hear).
The shops that had P900s could still sell them as they were fine. It was just one batch that was messed up.
So when they ran out, people started making up stories about how they're bugged and stuff, which is rubbish.
They're fine! Go and buy one!

@jj47, tthere are a LOT of posts on this subject, you have to stay on the tariff you bought it on for the minimum period specified by your contract.
But me & others have found that if you buy it on Orange from Carphone warehouse (CPW), you will find that you CAN reduce it down imediatly, because CPW & Orange BOTH dont have a minimum period in their Terms & conditions, its as simple as that.
So lots of us, certainly me anyway have been buying them on high tariffs for £99 or FREE & downgrading to Orange CSD £10 a month, then selling the phones on for hundreds of pounds profit.
Note, if you buy ann Orange P9 somewhere else then downgrading early, they may let you but you might get a nasty bill through the letterbox, as people like Oneestopphoneshop, warn you they will claim the money back from you.

@jj47 - u r right - 4months or the dealer will bill u the difference in the handset cost which is their lost commision from Orange.
P900 is NOT being withdrawn

@orangeman, surley you didn't miss all the posts on the CPW situation, i even spoke to CPW terms & conditions staff on this,
They DO NOT claw back the money from their who drop early & never have,
Obviously if you ring CPW & ask, the sales team will tell you 3,4 or even 6 months, these periods are all just sales talk/ rubbish.
Also, due to the confusion of this issue Orange customer services staff are told to advise people they may have to "Pay a penalty" this is just good advice as in almost all cases its true.
