at a SE service center. They said the update failed and offered to send it to the next level service center to have them look at it. I refused and picked it up.
It's definately running different software. It has a SE startup for a start.
But does anyone know what will happen when I do a download update next? Will it take an Orange firmware? I might be forced to update today because GPRS doesn't work anymore.
CDA number is 162003/7. I don't think this has changed.

Guys, if your going to send them away, why not try the online update first, what have you got to lose.

The online update no longer works because of the
botched F/W.
I asked for someone to post there F/W for me
so I could fix it but nobody could help me out.
Orange are sending me a new P900 tomurrow
and ill take it to the SE service point for a reflash
hopefully thay wont botch that one as well.

Best place for firmware upgrade is Orange Shop (261 Oxford Street), but you have to have had the phone for more than 14 days.

I tried an online update, to see if it would re-install the same software and fix the problems of the botched SE service center update, but it failed with an 'unknown error'.
Online recovery worked. It installed the original Orange firmware and restored the old CDA number. So, I'm back where I started.
Has anyone updated their Orange P900, then done an online update succesfully? It may be that the CDA number is hardwired in a way that it can not easily be reset. Even though my phone showed a new CDA number in the info, it must have kept the old number because the online restore found the old number

I'm on Orange firmware but would love to be free of it. Why were you getting yours updated?

I've had a few problems with the phone locking up. I'm not sure if it's firmware or software, but I wanted rid of Orange firmware too.

The online restore just installs the software it
had all ready downloaded and since it was an orange
phone it was orange software which is why
I want someone to post there normal firmware on
here so that I can use the restore to put it on the phone.
Thats why when you did the restore it didnt
have to download any software it will have started
straight away.
