well if you writen a quite long sms it will be splited in to two sms, i remeber writing sms with a standard t9 nokia and that never hapend, is it becouse the keybord is so mutch faster so it feels smaler, or can nokia send bigger messages

Which old Nokia as not all are capable of 'long messages'?
The fact that it sends as multiple seperate messages is network dependant. O2 sends seperate 'linked' messages while Orange sends as 1 large message.

I don't know about Nokia but just tested my P800 and the Max characters was just under 40,000 on message 255!!!

doesn't matter which phone you use... each SMS can only contain 160 characters (included in the standards for GSM networks), then the phones are made to be able to link together several SMS messages making it possible to write longer messages
