> P900 and Hbh-60 Voice Dialing
Bookmark topic
Hello,
i know i have posted this under the accessories section, but it is not getting hardly any views or replies and i could do with a speedy response.
I have a problem using the HBH 60 to activate voice dialling on the P900. When I push on the button on the HBH 60, instead of the high pitch tone that informs us to start saying the word to dial, it beeps the low tone one which means that the HBH 60 did not connect with the P900.
I think the headset is being rejected by the phone.
Answering calls is no problem with the HBH 60. It even says the recorded voice corresponding to the caller before ringing. But for voice dialling, it does not work.
My bluetooth is always set to on and i have also checked that the option to allow to connect without confirmation is on/checked.
Any idea's. the headset worked fine with my t68i and my old p800.
can someone please test voice dialling works with their p900 and hbh-60 before i go and take phone back for another one.
thanks.

Voice dialing does work... As a matter of fact all of SE's currently BT headsets should work correctly as I have tested all of them. Try restarting your P900.. Or better yet reset your BT headset, clear it from the phone, and re-pair them...

Hi bbasra,
You might need to check the following things in order to use the Voice Dial feature of P900 with the HBH-60:
01. Activate the Bt feature of P900 (from the P900's Control Panel - Connections - Bluetooth).
The 'Visible to other devices' option doesn't have to be enabled.
02. Make sure the HBH-60 has been paired with the P900, and the 'Allowed to connect without confirmation' option (from the HBH-60 item in the list of paired Bt devices, on the Devices tab) has been enabled in order to always allow the Bt connection between both Bt devices without any confirmation.
03. Open the Phone application / log and open its Preferences. Make sure that the settings of the Voice Control has been set as below:
- Voice dialling: checked.
- Voice answer: checked (if you want to answer an incoming call by saying a recorded voice).
- Other settings of the Voice Control are optional to be set.
04. Now the P900 is ready to be used with HBH-60 and you are ready to rock.

T-shirt, i have done all of that, and no luck.
When i Press the button on the hbh-60 and wait for it to try to connect to my p900 and Look at the phone screen, it will NOT say "no match found".
When i check whether the bluetooth on the phone is still connected to hbh-60 indicated by the "in out" arrows on the bluetooth icon on the phone, it is not connected. they come on for split second and go out.
I can get the voice dialing and no match found with the wired headset.... but not bluetooth.

i think i have solved the problem.
when i switch on my phone and my headset and try to voice, the headset is rejected by the p900.
what i need to do is, switch off my bluetooth on the p900 and switch it back on and the headset will voice dial perfectly connecting to phone as it suppose to do and allow for voice dialing.
does this mean my p900 bluetooth is messed up? I have already tried to upgrade my firmware via the SE online update and i already have the latest version?
Does this mean a new phone is needed?
Only had the phone for 1.5 weeks.

Hi folks,
My suspicion is that this problem is caused by P900. Strangely I experienced the same problem yesterday evening, when I drove home by car. The Bt connection can be made but the voice dial failed, and the only solution I can think of is by just turning both P900 and HBH-60 off and then turning them back on.
There must be something wrong with the Bt implementation on P900 or else P900 is not compatible with HBH-60.
Does anyone know how HBH-65 works with P900? Does the same problem occur with HBH-65 or even HBH-35?
One more thing... does anyone have a problem with P900 and HBH-60 where HBH-60 produce a noise (high pitch one) when dialing or accepting a call? I just experienced such problem and the solution is the same, which is turning P900 and HBH-60 off and then turning them back on.

This happened to me too. When it happens, I restart the phone. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I haven't recognized a pattern to this behaviour, but I am watching it closely.

Hi folks,
I reproduced the problem yesterday night. It's the same problem with the same solution. Let see if I can reproduce such problem today (this evening).
Is SE developers / supports monitoring the Esato boards, especially for the P800/P900 topics?
