> P900 MP4 best quality setting for mpegable?
Bookmark topic
I have just purchased the Mpegable x4 and want to know how i can get the best possible quality on my p900 from a AVI file.
Can someone tell me what the best settings are in order to do this, as the pre set setting for the p800 is totally rubbish.
All the setting advice seems to be for the p800 only and i want to optimize the fact i own a p900 not the poor quality screen of a p800
any answers appreciated

Here you go m8............
Set the total bitrate to 200kbs
Set audio bitrate to 64
Advanced options: Target framerate 15fps, leave the rest as it is
Audio options: sample rate 16000 hz, leave the rest as it is
Encoding options: Keyframe period 75, leave the rest as it is
ENCODE and ENJOY.
These are my settings, if you want you may try my videos here: -

It will definately work on the p900.
Now on the p800 it depends on the video ratio before encoding.
For example: the p900 will play videos that are bigger than 192x144,
the p800 does not like the video to be bigger than 192x144.
This is my experience.
Hope it helps.

The way to change video size is by going to Downsampling/Factor.
You decide whether you want it 1x 2x or 4x.
On the P900, highest video ratio i have tried is 512 x 384.

If you dont mind about bigger file size try these settings
1 minute = 2 mb
Rip the dvd you want to convert
Then convert the ifo and vob files to mpeg1 (352X288)
Once you have your mpeg right click on it and rename it to avi (the reason i do this is because a couple of times i have had lipsync problems with mpeg but after renaming to avi i havent had any problems) A warning box will then show just hit yes
Then run mpegable
1: Select your avi
2: Set the total bitrate to 300 k/bits/sec and audio bitrate to 64 K/bits/sec
3: Open the show advanced settings tab
4: under advanced/reprocessing click on user defined and set target frame to 10.0 and downsize factor to X2 to give you 176X144
5: Under advanced/audio set channels to stereo precision to 16 bit and sample rate to 22050 khz
6: Under advanced/encoding set keyframe period to 40 frames image quality to very smooth motion and compression quality to high quality
7: Under advanced/interoperability select simple profile
8: Click on hide advanced
9: Select encode
