I just wondered... I've been pretty happy when we got our first camcorder/sweetcam app for the P800. It's been a fantastic and funny add-on to my P800, and now that my operator finally supports MMS bigger than 50KB I can also send these as attachments. But it is clear Nokia performs better in this area : their videos are clear and sharp (at least for the device size).
So I wondered : do we need to stop at the camcorder stage ? Is there really no way to optimize this camcorder application and have a newer one with smoother frames AND sound ???

Have a look at the P900 it has a very improved camcoder with sound and unlimited recoding time (only space restricted)

Thanks for the info !
I guess however that moving from a P800 to a P900 just for the camera stuff would be kind of a waste of money.
So if this could be done on P900, I guess this could be done as well on a P800. We just need to have the programers who can do that !

Before we go further and make this into a long "theory and speculation" thread. The P800 has different hardware requirements than the P900 so, the cam setup in the P900 is NOT physically possible due to hardware limitations, NOT software. So the programmers can write unitl their heart is content but face the facts. If you want P900 performance on a P800 vid-cammy wise, it will probably never happen. Can we close this thread now and maybe pick it up in another thread(about a million) that have discussed this dead topic?
