Sony Ericsson has published a J2ME MIDP 2.0 Software Development Kit for its P900 wireless handheld which includes the P900 device emulator for Sun Wireless Toolkit 2.0, Java Bluetooth APIs, and Developers' Guidelines describing P900/P908 MIDP 2.0 support. The SDK also contains two fully functional Java Bluetooth MIDlets, one of which enables compatibility between the P900 and Sony Ericsson's recently introduced Bluetooth car.
The MIDlet lets users alternate between the different gears of the Bluetooth CAR-100, as well as control left and right steering, all from a visual interface. Additionally, users are presented with indicators showing whether a link has been obtained, the CAR-100 is charging or ready to race.
