Hi everyone, I've managed to get my p900 working, even though at work we only 'officially' support the P800.

Got the I.T. people to install the P800 sync software, THEN installed the P900 software over the top (it seems to replace it). Then connected sync station to PC, and used the P800 driver on our network (it seemed to work), then put P900 on sync station and everything seems fine.

Installed the opera browse last night, impressed how it displayed pages, far better than the built in browser...and other useful bits of software on the discs (that AREN'T demo versions) ??

All the best

Where is it that you work that you need the IT plp to do the software installation for you? You coulda simply plugged in your sync station and download the drivers from SE's website.. And also have downloaded the PC suite from their website as well... All you technically needed was your phone and sync station.. Everything else you needed to sync/install/etc...was available on SE's website. However, I'm guessing they may have limited your priveledges below that of an admistrator level. In either case no being work-around for the P900.. I actually still use the sync station that came with my P800 with the P900 on a separate computer.

Hi there,

I work in the London office of a Norwegian bank, and we don't have authority to install our own software. Even if you can, it rarely then has the ability to talk to the networked Microsoft exchange server to pick up Contacts. However the 'official' P800 version DID look for my network ID, and so I hoped the P900 software would simply 'update' the P800 software, and it seems to have worked. Also, drivers never seem to take if off a CD, so we try to use the networked ones.

As an example of what happens, eachday when we sign on, a 'script' runs that allows us to use certain software depending on what 'groups' we're in. All very clever, but if you've got something that's not on the official list, it can be a sod to get it to work!!!

All the best
