Been using with flip removed for a couple of weeks now, and still can't get used to the text entry methods. The keyboard is slow to use and the handwriting recongnition is a little too unreliable. Neither method is as quick and easy as the T9 entry on my 68i. Anyone have a better suggestion? Some kind of handwriting recognition with spell checking like T9 would be ideal...

I'm afriad its blatently obvious that its a user input issue.
To answer your question, if you have a P8 buy a P9,
if you hve a P9 put the flip back on.

Tried EZ-Tap. The idea is it suggests words for you based on the first couple of letters you type. I didn't like it too much because when you type a word you have to keep looking at the list of words it selects to quick-fill.
I prefer a T9 type idea where you enter all the letters of the word as quickly as possible, then you get to choose from a list of words close to what you entered - e.g. did you write a lower case 'a', a 'u' or an 'o', doesn't matter while writing it, don't wast time thinking about it, but at the end of the word there are probably only 2 or 3 sensible words that can be strung together from the random scribblings.

@taffjones, OK, you have a P9, you wnt the flip OFF, so go to the my-symbin site & checkout the downloadable apps, because in the llast few days i saw a new aapp that gives your p9 a full screentransparent virtual keyboard, if i see it again, i will come here & POST A LINK.
