Hya all
OK I sold my Nokia 8310 and im due to send it out at the weekend but I have a problem!
The text messages I have stored are from someone very special to me, and I dont wanna lose them
If the Sim card is in the Nokia it shows all 51 text messages from that person, but if I place the sim into the P900 I see only 10
Is there a way to do it?
is the SE P900 limited as to how many texts it can hold on to?
Any help appreciated!
Chris

The P900 can store a lot more than 51. I think you might have to cope with only 10 msgs off this person as i dont know how to send them over.

The fact that you only see 10 messages when you put the sim card in the from the 8310 into the P900 is due to the fact that the sim card itself can only hold 10 messages in it's memory (newer sim cards, included with newer phones, can store around 20 and double the amount of contacts too)... the rest of the messages are stored on 8310's internal memory... 51 seems like a lot though (my 8210, its predecessor, could only store 20ish)...
I am not familiar with the 8310 itself, but my 8210 had infrared (which the 8310 must have also), and whilst I could not send text messages over directly between phones (you can with contacts though), there is an option to print via infrared so you could get a hard copy if your printer also has infra red (quite a rare feature that one though)...
If your computer has infrared, as most laptops do, then you can beam them over, provided you have some software on the computer to handle it, something like "Logomanager" or anything similar... (if you have a data cable thingy, you could use this instead in the absence of infrared)
Another method, although potentially costly depending on what tariff you use with your 8310, is to forward each message to your new phone, but you will incur the cost of each text message you send which on 51 would be around £6ish
I also believe Carphonewarehouse will back up and transfer stuff from an old phone to a newer one, I don't know how much this costs, and it may be restricted to the phonebook only... but it's worth a look perhaps
