Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for contacting Sony Ericsson Online Support.

We apologize that you where misinformed by one of our technicians, we will not be providing updates for the P800 via a website. The P800 is not compatible to the updating services that are web-based. Due to technological advances the P900 can receive web-based updates.
If you have any other questions and you would like to talk to a live Sony Ericsson representative, please call us at 1-800-374-2776.

Best regards,

Sony Ericsson Online Support

Sorry if this has been posted before.

Hmmm, that is a shame.
Guess it's just another reason to move onto the P900 then!

well, have invested enough in my p800's so I am happy with that. The differences between the 900 and 800 arent enough to justify a move.

emm what tec advances? i thought its almost the same phone with minimal changes and the major one is only the screen is this a tec advance that cant allow the phone to update online really?I begin to think that sony sucks, better change their attitude or im moving back to nokia or other brand.

PS : i just remember a friend of mine working in vodaphone tell me that sony wait for the guaranty of 800 to stop(sorry i dont remember the right word for it right now) and then they offer upgrade at least for the recorder but not free of cource, either it rumour of true but i believe its true.

Wake up and smell the coffee people!

The P900 is a COMPLETELY different phone than the P800. For starters it uses UIQ2.1 - precisely the reason that we can now self flash the phone.

And those of you who don't think it's worth upgrading to the P900 should use one for a while; it's twice the phone the P800 was.

As a former P800 owner I'm not trying to put the phone down, but people need to realise that times change and technology moves on.
