> How to update orange F/W yourself !
Bookmark topic
First the hard part you will need the normal F/W you
can get this from any one who has used the online
update service to update an unbranded P900.
It will be in C:\Program Files\Sony Ericsson\Update Service\
there are five files about 20megs in total.
It would be very usefull if someone posted them on
here.
1.use the online update service to update your
orange P900. Just reflash it with the normal orange
F/W.
2.goto C:\Program Files\Sony Ericsson\Update Service\
software-data. Cut and paste the five files in that folder
and put them in a new folder called backup F/W.
3.copy and paste the normal F/W into the update service
folder then rename each file with the same names as the
orange F/W.
4.Now use the online Recovery mode to flash your P900
it should start straight away and not download any software.
if it dose stop it and makesure you have renamed the files
correctley
5.If something goes wrong just copy the orange F/W
back to the software-data folder and use it to restore
your phone.

Why are you still posting this stuff on this board??? Last I remember your P900 was screwed up after having the OEM firmware flashed at some service center. So how does your experience compare to non-tampered carrier modified P900s? Moreover, you are telling people what to do, but have no evidence to show that it has worked. Don't you realize that this post is going to allude members to try this crap because you post it as if it works? It appears that you are the only P900 owner adment about this 'untested' idea, but report it as if it has worked. Why put other users at risk?
Warning members: Do this at your own risk if you have a couple hours of your lives to waste...

A couple of guys on Howard forums tried this and it did not work. I uploaded the files from my upgrade (worked online). Both of them could not get this to work.

Well maybe its because my CDA number had allready
been changed I had to do it three times on my phone.
If so this thread could still be used to finnish the job
Cuz I aint the only one who had their F/W messed up
by a service center.
I read that thread but it dosent say if he used the
recovery mode to do it, it dosen't work any other way.
And 2 hours isnt much to waste compared to a whole
day driving 60miles and waiting around a service center all
day only to be told that they couldnt flash the phone
properly.
