T230 also handles real sounds in AMR format up to Full Rate 12.2 kbps.

Unfortunately recording real music via T230 mic doesn`t achieve good quality, passable only for voice.

So I am thinking of converting short MP3/WAV recordings into AMR on PC, and then uploading the resulting AMR files into T230, via USB cable, or via MMS from Web site.

This way my T230 would play them back as true music ringtones, instead of MIDI files.

Anybody can help on how to convert MP3/WAV into compatible AMR format, and how to upload files into T230?

I know a program that converts WAV files to AMR. It's called MIKSOFT MOBILE AMR CONVERTER...

BTW before you convert a WAV be sure it is a 16 bit wave file with 8kHz sampling frequency. If it's not u must use Total Recorder to modify the quality. Download Total Recorder from here: http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/TotalRecorder/

U can really set .amr as T230 ringtones? Wow, that's cool. Even T610 can't do that...

Unfortunately t230 cant set amr as ringtones. When you go to set the ringtone amr dont show in the ringtone list. Sorry. The phones software is copy-paste the software with out the irda options. This message was posted from a T610
